The main objective of this project is set out the historic village of KAF as a true example, and through proper protection, conservation, and interpretation mechanisms, of a genuine unique site for heritage ad nature tourism not only through the region, but for the whole Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The various physical and managerial interventions would enable the site to seek world heritage status and to apply for internationally well-reputed awards for excellence in heritage conservation and management.

Site protection objectives and policies work to put in place a goal to sustain the outstanding universal value of the site. This goal rests on providing regulatory, planning, and contractual and other instruments and mechanisms of protection. Furthermore, it puts in place mitigation measures to address threats and risks.
